imageRoger and Brenda Chalker in their own words:

Roger and Brenda Chalker were born and raised in Thomson, Georgia, the Camellia City of the South.

We have both been basically self-employed all of our working years. [Roger has been a preowned automobile dealer for 35 years and Brenda was a hairdresser for 27 years.]

In April of 2004 we found a brochure in the door of our automobile dealership that was left by Ric Jeffries with Dura-Built Portable Buildings. There was a note with the brochure asking if we would be interested in becoming a dealer with Dura-Built. We contacted Ric and became a dealer shortly thereafter.

Since then we have had a great working relationship with the company. It has been easy in our business to incorporate building sales along with car sales.

In 2005 and 2006 we were dealer of the year for the state of Georgia. We appreciate and proudly accepted the beautiful plaques presented to us by Dura-Built. They are attractively displayed in our office.

We have many loyal and satisfied customers because Dura-Built has a great product at affordable prices and a Rent to Own plan. We take pride in our business from the sale to delivery. We don't worry after the sale because we have a great Mennonite team that does our construction and delivery from Montezuma, Georgia. We have received many complements after delivery.

Chalker's Auto is located at 1292 Washington Road, Thomson, Georgia. They can be reached at 706-595-8888 or email rogerchalker@aol.com.

Derksen Portable Buildings & Gazebos:

5429 South Campbell Ave | Springfield, MO 65810 | 417-881-7936

imageAfter spending nearly 20 years with one of the country's largest car dealers I felt a need to venture out on my own and opened in September 2001 as Haynes Family Motors. The task of selecting vehicles that didn't end up requiring more expenditures than what profit could be expected was more daunting than I had anticipated.

A year and a half after opening the store I prayed for God to send me an additional business venture that would actually make money rather than causing me to lose money. A few days later Scott Berryman, President and CEO of Derksen Portable Buildings, was on my doorstep. He presented an opportunity for me to display and sell his storage buildings from my car lot.

I politely reminded him that I was a car dealer and thanked him for coming by. He gave me a brochure and asked me to call if I changed my mind.

I soon came to realize that I had sent away the answer to my prayers and called Scott back. He chuckled upon hearing from me and said "Steve, I knew you would call me!"

I put my name and reputation behind every Derksen transaction and I believe that is what sets me apart from all the others. During my time with Chevrolet I learned the importance of building personal relationships with business contacts. I have continued to follow that ideal and make every effort to personally connect with customers, builders, rent-to-own companies and drivers. My clients and contacts aren't just a "dollar sign" to me. Each and every one is important in their own right and that is how I treat them. That is the basis on which I have built my business.

Derksen Portable Buildings & Gazebos has continued to grow and we are now taking a leap of faith to the next level to ensure even better customer satisfaction. Our website derksenspringfieldmo.com will soon be up and running. I can also be contacted at Haynesfamilymotors@yahoo.com or by calling 417-881-7936. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Derksen Portable Buildings, the rent-to-own companies, builders and drivers for the privilege of being part of the Derksen team.

Traders Field, Inc:

1001 Trimble Ave | Berryville, AR 72616 | 870-423-1414

imageDave and Shelley decided they'd had enough of the "big city" of Ft. Worth, Texas. They'd lived, worked, and raised a family there for the past 25 years. They were more than ready for the move back to Shelley's hometown of Berryville, Arkansas in 2005. Nestled in the middle of the Ozark Mountains, surrounded by lakes and rivers and having a population of around 4,500, Berryville was the respite of their dreams.

"We have a responsibility to the people of Berryville, to provide them with the very best of products and services. After all, they are our friends and neighbors. That's why we chose to be dealers for Derksen Portable Buildings," said Dave. "Strawberry, Arkansas is the home of the Mennonite craftsmen who produce our buildings. They take pride in everything they make. And it shows!"

"Driving through these gorgeous Ozark Mountains has always given me a thrill--but even more so now," said Shelley. "We see our Derksen Portable Buildings sitting alongside lakes and rivers; in pastures and yards; and being used as businesses. Delivering buildings in these mountains can be challenging to our drivers, but they continuously amaze our customers with their expertise and handling." Dave and Shelley's business, "Traders Field", is located directly across from Wal-Mart, Hwy 62 West, in Berryville. It sits in a field that has belonged to their family since 1872.

Selling Derksen Portable Buildings is a good fit for Dave, a retired structural engineer, and Shelley, who has a long history in Public Relations. They are delighted to provide a top quality product at affordable prices to friends and neighbors in their small Ozark Mountain community.
